Soundproofing Office UPS Unit
An emergency call center was receiving complaints from its employees concerning noise from the new UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) unit that was located in the small call center office. The employees were having difficulty hearing people on the phone and it was contributing to a bad work environment and poor performance. The call center manager called eNoise Control for help. We discussed the noise reduction application over the phone and identified possible solutions. The call center provided dimensions of the UPS unit and the space available. eNoise Control determined that a sound curtain enclosure would be the best solution for this application.
A sound curtain enclosure takes up very little floor space, is easy to install, provides easy access to the equipment for maintenance, and windows for reading the display without having to open the sound enclosure. The client decided to proceed with the solution and we provided them with approval drawings of the proposed sound curtain. The drawings are an opportunity for the client to ensure that the curtains will fit properly in the space available and check dimensions for clearance and access. After installing the sound curtain enclosure, the office is much quieter and the employees are happy and productive.
