Sound Absorbing Wall Blankets

Sound Absorbing Wall Blankets

sound-curtain-wall-absorberSound absorbing wall blankets are flexible, easy to install, and durable. The blankets have good noise control properties and are very economical. eNoise Control’s UNC wall blankets combine excellent noise absorption characteristics and durability with an ASTM-E84 Class I Fire Rating. The fiberglass blanket features an attractive quilted facing that is abrasion resistant and impervious to dirt, grease, solvents, and airborne contaminants.

Installing eNoise Control wall blankets in strategic locations will dramatically reduce noise levels without any interruption in production routines, housekeeping activities, and work flow. Hanging the blankets on walls, partitions, or equipment enclosures immediately lowers overall levels and reduces echo to create a safer and more productive workplace. Because the blankets install directly to the wall, there is no physical obstruction in the facility. The increase in comfort and easier communication is a very welcome benefit in many noisy areas.

eNoise Control UNC products have excellent sound absorption properties. These properties provide an opportunity to solve many reverberation problems with as little as 25-30% coverage of reflective surfaces. The sound absorbing wall blankets can be mounted anywhere on walls and ceilings and are easy to cut and trim in the field to accommodate pipes, windows, and ductwork.

The high performance wall blankets are fabricated from a quilted fiberglass sound absorbing material. This material is ideal for reducing noise levels in harsh environments or where the treatment may be subject to high traffic and physical abuse. UNC blankets have an extremely tough fabric facing. This gives the panels excellent resistance to abrasion and damage without seriously affecting the acoustical performance.

Under normal circumstances, a heavy facing would seriously detract from the acoustical performance of an absorber. The difference with the eNoise Control UNC panels is that we apply the tough fabric facing using a method that takes advantage of the Membrane Principal of noise absorption. The idea of the membrane principal is that sound can pass through, even though the membrane may be relatively thick and non-porous, provided that the membrane is free to move under slight air pressure variations (sound waves). eNoise Control uses a special fabricating process that maximizes the compliance of the tough fabric facing. This process allows the membrane to move freely and transmit noise to the inner cavity of fibers, where it is dissipates.
