Liquid Chiller Sound Proofing

A large high school originally built in the 1920s was retrofitted with three (3) liquid chillers. The maintenance staff was being exposed to high noise levels and the administration contacted an acoustical consultant looking for a solution to these safety issues. eNoise Control Model UNC-13 Sound Curtains were specified and installed around the chillers. The enclosures had four sides and an open top. Cut-outs in the curtain allowed for piping. The curtains featured clear vinyl viewing windows so staff could monitor the controls.

These sound curtains are constructed with a quilted vinyl facing on one side and a reinforced vinyl backing. The curtains are installed so the quilted facing points towards the noise source. The top of the curtains are attached to a steel frame by heavy duty grommets. These industrial noise curtains provide excellent sound reduction while contributing to a professional appearance around the chillers.
