Wastewater Treatment Plants

Wastewater treatment plants (sewer plants) contain several large pieces of mechanical equipment to clean used water and sewage so it can be returned safely to our environment.  These pieces of equipment and processes create high noise levels. Hydraulic pumps, generators, gensets, noisy pipes, and exhaust fans are all components in the wastewater industry that create noise. Complaining neighbors and internal workers are looking for ways to mitigate or attenuate this noise.

eNoise Control has helped many wastewater and sewer plant clients. We have used our engineered industrial noise control material to help insulate and reduce sound levels. Some clients have used our sound blankets to create an enclosure around noisy pumps. Other clients have used our acoustic louvers and sound traps to lower noise escaping to the neighboring property. All of our engineered noise control devices allow for maintenance and air flow while still lowering the sound levels.

Pump buildings are notoriously loud.  Our consultants can assist the engineer with acoustic louvers or sound traps that allow air to enter and exit the building, yet help contain the sound inside the building.  We can also provide sound absorption material to help lower the reverberation, echo, and build up noise inside the building.

Positive displacement blowers are also loud mechanical devices we have treated with sound suppression blankets or enclosures.  Outdoor generators can also be treated with silencers and/or noise enclosures, depending on the property line and noise complaints from neighbors.

eNoise Control can also assist in noise consulting and sound measurements to help with any property line noise complaint.
